My Mother, Jean Burgette, taught me the art of quilting. She made beautiful quilts along with beautiful work. She also passed away from Creutzfeldt - Jakob Disease on November 20, 1997. We first saw the noticeable signs at the end of September. She died 55 days later. I want to make a memorial to the victims of this horrible disease and also to my lovely mother whom is missed very much.
I live in Northeastern Indiana
with my husband Tom of 25 years and my two sons My hope is to get this quilt made along with informational brochures about CJD. It can be viewed in quilt shows all around the USA to educate the public. It is something real, similar to the memorials in Washington D.C. only mobile.
